India’s Toy Problem
Updated: Sep 30, 2020
More than 75% of the toys sold in India hail from China. If we take away the made-in-China toys from the market, local manufacturers would struggle to meet the ever increasing demand.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and an increase in the import duty on toys, supply of Chinese toys has drastically reduced while demand for toys has skyrocketed. Indian Toy makers see this as a huge opportunity but due to lack of equipments and the high import duties imposed on machines, they are struggling to make hay while the sun shines.
